Police Foundations Program

When I was choosing a college to provide me with the information and skills to become a police officer, Fleming was among my top choices. The program is competitive because it is well designed and has phenomenal coordinators and faculty.

As a Police Foundations student, I began to gain an understanding of the basics of policing. The first semester of the program was generalized, which enabled me to experience a wide variety of career options. The remaining three semesters narrowed their focus; the classes were instructed by retired police officers, drawing on practical policing experiences. My knowledgeable instructors gave me the necessary information and confidence to pursue a career in policing.

Fleming College also gave me the opportunity to help others in the local community. The faculty encouraged its students to get involved and provided volunteering options. Volunteering in your community shows police services that you have the confidence to work with the public.

Some of my fondest memories in the Police Foundations Program included listening to the faculty talk about their policing experiences, the Co-op program, the extracurricular activities and the new fitness facility.
