As learning institutions both located in Peterborough, Trent University and Fleming College have intensified their special partnership to offer enhanced learning opportunities. As a student, this unique partnership gives you the best of both worlds.

 

  • Joint degree programs taught by faculty from both Trent University and Fleming College.
  • Degree completion options that mean specific Fleming College diplomas can be applied towards the appropriate related Trent degrees.
  • Applied learning experiences for valuable practical experience through a variety of research projects.
  • Access to student services at both institutions including placement and employment services, databases and library facilities, as well as recreation activities and facilities.

 

Trent/Fleming Partnership Agreements:

 

Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Science

Graduates of the General Arts and Science - University Transfer program with an overall 70% average and no grade less than 65% in any credit transfer course, are eligible to apply for advance standing admission into these degree programs at the second year level. Trent University will grant direct entry and assign four credits (of five required for the first year) towards the degree, and students must complete the additional credits required in the Trent program selected.

 

Bachelor of Arts (Honours)

Upon successful completion of the four semester Police Foundations diploma program at Fleming College, graduates with a minimum 75% cumulative program average will be eligible to make application to the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program at Trent University.

Trent University will grant direct entry and assign 5 transfer credits, as outlined in Appendix A: Part I towards the successful completion of a 20-credit honours B.A. degree. Please read the complete agreement.

 

Bachelor of Science (Honours), (Joint-Major) or the Bachelor of Arts (Honours), (Joint Major)


Upon successful completion of the four semester Police Foundations diploma program at Fleming College, graduates with a minimum 75% cumulative program average will be eligible to make application to the Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Joint-Major program at Trent University. Applicants must declare their choice of program at the time of initial application to Trent.

 

Trent University will grant direct entry and assign 5 transfer credits, as outlined in Appendix A: Part I towards the successful completion of a 20-credit honours degree, B.Sc. or B.A. Please read Appendix A: part II for details on requirements to be met to achieve the above degrees on a transfer basis. Bachelor of Science Honours in Ecological Restoration Trent- Fleming Degree/Diploma


The Ecological Restoration program is a joint four-year program that has been developed in collaboration with Trent University. Students will spend the first two years of the Ecological Restoration program at Fleming's Frost Campus in Lindsay and then spend years three and four at Trent University in Peterborough. Students successfully completing the program will graduate at the end of the four years with an Ontario College Diploma and an Honours B.Sc. in Ecological Restoration.

 

 Bachelor of Science in Nursing

 

A baccalaureate in nursing is now the minimum requirement for nursing registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Trent University and Fleming College have teamed up to offer the Trent/Fleming Nursing program, which is an integrated, collaborative four-year program leading to a B.Sc.N. Students take courses from both institutions. Trent provides courses in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities; and Fleming provides courses in nursing theory and nursing practice. Bachelor of Science (Honours) Computing  and Information Systems, Specialization in Software Engineering

Fleming students taking selected technology programs have the opportunity to obtain a diploma and a Bachelor of Science degree at the same time. Graduates of the following programs may apply:   

  • Computer Programmer Analyst  
  • Computer Engineering Technology - Networking

Fleming graduates with an average of 75% will be eligible to make application to Trent University for admission to the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Computing Systems degree program on an advanced standing basis. Trent University will grant direct entry and assign 10 credits towards the successful completion of a 20-credit honours degree.

 Bachelor of Science Honours in Environmental and Resource Studies

 

Graduates of the following Fleming programs may apply for admission to the Environmental and Resource Studies Honours Science Degree program:  

 

  • Environmental Technology
  • Fish and Wildlife Technology
  • Ecosystem Management Technology 

 

Graduates achieving a minimum 75% overall average will be eligible to apply for advance standing admission into this degree program. Subject to student capacity, Trent University will grant direct entry and will assign 10 credits towards the four-year Honours degree. 

 

Bachelor of Science, Forensic Science
 

Upon successful completion of the four semester Police Foundations diploma program at Fleming College, graduates with a minimum 75% cumulative program average will be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science degree program on an advanced standing basis, subject to capacity. Admission to the B.Sc.F.S. program on an advanced standing basis, subject to capacity.  Admission to the B.Sc.F.S. program is competitive and an average higher than 75% may be required for admission. Students who meet the terms of this agreement but who do not meet the cut-off grade for direct entry to the B.Sc.F.S., or who prefer to pursue a B.Sc. (Hons.) or B.A. (Hons.) joint major degree program will be offered admission to the Arts and Science Program. Please read about entrance requirements in the agreement.

 

Trent University will grant direct entry and assign 5 credits on the student’s transcript, as outlined in Appendix A, Part I. Note: Arts credits are not applicable to the B.Sc.F.S. degree. While these transfer credits recognize university-equivalent work and will be recorded on the student’s academic record, they do not count toward the B.Sc.F.S. degree requirements.

 

Bachelor of Science, Forensic Science

Upon successful completion of the 5 semester Biotechnology Technologist Advanced Diploma program at Fleming College, students with a minimum 75% cumulative program average will be eligible to make application to the Forensic Science program at Trent University, subject to capacity, for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science degree program on an advanced standing basis. Note: Admission to the B.Sc.F.S. program is competitive and an average higher than 75% may be required for admission. For details on transfer credits, please visit the OCUTG website.

 

Bachelor of Science , Honours in Biology 

 

Graduates of Fleming's Fish and Wildlife Technology program achieving a minimum 75% overall average will be eligible to apply for advanced standing admission into the Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Subject to student capacity, Trent University will grant direct entry and will assign 10 credits towards the four-year degree.

 

Bachelor of Business Administration Honours

 

Graduates of the following Fleming programs may apply for admission to this degree program: 

 

  • Business Administration
  • Business  Administration - Accounting
  • Business Administration - Human Resources Management
  • Business Administration - Marketing
  • Business Administration - Materials Management and Distribution
  • International Trade 

Graduates achieving a minimum 75% overall average will be eligible to apply for advance standing admission into the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. Subject to student capacity, Trent University will grant direct entry and assign 10 credits towards the successful completion of a 20-credit honours degree. Please review Appendix A of the transfer agreement, which outlines the requirements to be met to achieve the Bachelor of Business Administration degree on a transfer basis.
