School of Law, Justice & Community Services
The School of Law and Justice has an excellent reputation in Ontario for being top-of-mind for law programs. This is largely because employers are satisfied with the practical, hands-on training and experience Fleming students receive. This extensive training extends well beyond the classroom and ensures our grads are prepared to excel in their chosen field.
Areas of study within the school include law and justice programs, law and technology as well as first responder programs.
Community Services programs within this School, such as Recreation and Leisure Services, Social Service Worker and Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, offer an intensive, four-month placement during final semester. Our Collections Conservation and Museum Management and Curatorship programs are recognized throughout Canada and internationally.
Several programs offer the opportunity to take courses that are designed from an Aboriginal perspective, to gain a more in-depth understanding of Aboriginal populations. See the Aboriginal Emphasis Initiative page for more information.

Emergency Management Students Manage Mock Incident
Students in the Emergency Management program receive their practical training at the Eastern Ontario Fire Academy Training facility. It's an ideal environment to simulate various emergency situations where they learn control, communication and resource management strategies. This particular exercise was conducted in partnership with Douro-Dummer Township. The scenario they managed included dealing with freezing rain and power outages throughout the township and a number of weather-related car accidents which closed off major transportation routes.
